My name is Kelsie Johnson! For those of you I have not worked with before, I teach private swimming lessons at my house throughout the summer. I swam competitively on the city swim team for about 5 years and am CPR and lifeguard certified. The past 4 summers I have worked with kids ages 2 - 13, working on anything from blowing bubbles and becoming comfortable with water to refining technique and helping to prepare them for swim team tryouts. I choose to teach one-on-one, and sometimes two at a time, because I have found that kids learn more efficiently when they have my undivided attention and it is easier for me, as the teacher, to work on the little things and praise them for their accomplishments. Just giving you a heads up, lessons will be a little different this summer. As this is my last summer teaching, my 15-year-old sister, Linsey, will be helping me out. She will take over next summer, so she is going to shadow and possibly teach a couple of lessons. Linsey is currently swimming for the city swim team and is terrific with kids, for those of you who have met her, you know what a sweetheart she is. I will be teaching the majority of the lessons this year and Linsey will teach a few to get the hang of it before next summer. If you feel comfortable with Linsey teaching your children a few lessons here and there, please let me know so we can work her into the schedule. This way, I will also be able to let you know ahead of time which of us will be teaching during your scheduled time. This summer, I will be teaching June 9th through August 22nd, Mondays - Fridays from 9:30 AM - 5 PM. I look forward to working with you and your kids this summer!! -Kelsie
